Tigran Erkanyan was born in Yerevan, Armenia. He graduated from the specialized Music school named by P.E. Tchaikovsky. He has earned his Master’s Degree from the Komitas State Conservatory of Yerevan, Armenia. He has been a member of “Tagharan” Ancient Music Ensemble of Armenia and toured all over Europe, Russia, and Latin America. He then immigrated to Argentina in 1992. There in Buenos Aires, he continued his carrier as the first violinist of the Symphonic Orchestra of “Teatro Colon”, one of the most prestigious orchestras of the world. He performed with world famous tenors and sopranos and worked with world famous conductors. T. Erkanyan moved to the United States in 2008. Since then he has been a leader and the first violin of the Hi-Am Charity Foundation “Hi-Am String Quartet”. The quartet was nominated for the DiamondAward in 2009, was awarded a certificate of recognition by the City of Glendale, and received a Mayors’ Commendation from Mayor Frank Quintero and Zareh Sinanyan.
